Latest updates on the Futures Conference 2026
Abstract submission for the ’Sustainability, Temporalities and Futures’ conference is now closed. We are most delighted to let you know that we received nearly 200 submissions to the event.
Notification of acceptance will be sent to all the corresponding authors within the forthcoming month, no later than 6 March. If you have submitted and have not heard from us by then, please do check first your email spam folders and then contact us, if needed.
We are also happy to announce the third and final keynote speaker: Welcome to Turku Professor Per Högselius from the KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden!

We feel privileged to have you with us and look forward to hear your insights on the theme.
Per Högselius is Professor of History of Technology at KTH Royal Institute of Technology. An interdisciplinary scholar, he focuses on transnational aspects in the history of technology and this field’s intersection with environmental, economic and cultural history. Much of his teaching and research gravitates around energy systems, infrastructures and extractivism in past and present.

If you are arriving already on Mon 8 June you are most welcome to join our informal get-together. The conference starts on Tue morning after the registration at 10 am. The venue for the event is ’Medisiina’, the home base for the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Turku, situated in the Turku Science Park area.
Reserve your accommodation asap
There is a quota of rooms reserved for the participants in a nearby hotel as well as a discount in two other hotel chains. We hope you find a suitable accommodation for your visit.
